What defines wealth anyhow?

March 8th, 2005 at 12:11 pm

Indeed.. a rhetorical question!
Wealth to me is what I have every time I look into my children's eyes and see the love and admiration they hold there.
Can it be defined by numerical denominations?
Doubtful.. as billionaires only attract "hidden family members" (think of the jeopardy gazillionaire uber-nerd!)

What is wealth to you?

There are many kinds of currencies...Time, loving, sharing, and some of the richest times I have ever spent were with a friend, conversation, and drinking cups of hot tea as a summer rain drenched everything around my screened in porch area. The joy of shopping for anything more than 60% off...and of course...blue jeans...cowboy boots...leather jackets...kinds of cool days...great vegetables from a home grown garden...a great steak with a glass of wine...the tiny hands of a child...gently wrapping her tiny hand around your thumb...your grand daughter's eyes...enough to eat...love and conversation...a warm fire in the fireplace on a cold winter day...fishing...again...I get back to time...love...sharing...if you have those things...you are blessed by The Allmighty...
Money is the huge imposter...a candle...a tin cup...hot tea...shared with a friend is priceless treasure...LOVE is the purest form of wealth...the one thing that the God of the Bible desires above all things...simply to be loved...the strongest force in the universe...love...
I have millionnaire friends that have such great tragedy in their lives...and we keep them in thoughts and prayers...always...money is the least of things that define wealth...
Examine health, love, sharing, joy, wonder...that is a place to start.
